A blog experience of Keylinx.com

Well, the new release of kXGallery was well received last week at Snowcovered.com. So well that it has entered the charts (No 4 at Hot New Modules and now at No40 at BestSellers). We are of course very proud of this, but we will not sit back and enjoy. No, we will try to have more frequency in adding new versions. There are a lot of plans going on for this module, since it has great capabilities that we are yet not using. Another thing is that there is hard competition out there with Gallery modules, you really have to pinpoint down what the user wants, and are willing to pay for. Please let us know what you are looking for. We have received som good feedback so far, and we know that the video options are something that people really want. And of course injecting existing modules.

I just added our new flash banner to the About section here. This banner will be used among our partners to attract more customers hopefully. My flash experience is a little bit low I must say, but the result came out nice after all.

A lot of people has been emailing us asking about the roadmap of kXScroll. When will the next version be out and what does it contain? Well, we intend to release one version with approximately 5-7 weeks cycles. That means that the v1.3 is soon to be hitting the stores (well, the store as we only support Snowcovered). The following improvements will be done:

  • Warning messagebox when changing content without saving in edit scroll will appear.
  • Add HTML rich text boxes in settings, where HTML content shall be edited.
  • Provide option to set left and right arrows on left side resp. right side of scroll.
  • Provide option to set up and down links above and below the scroll.
  • Looping/wrapping content will be there.

There has been a couple of weeks since my last post here. This week has been busy with releasing v1.1 of kXGallery, which contains more and better support for Windows Media Player.

We have also began to establish a partner agreement with a swedish company called 3wPortal who is a company selling complete CMS solutions including hosting. Our modules is going to be a part of their service package that they provide to their customers. If you are looking for a stable hosting solution located in Sweden, check it out.

Hello,

I have not updated this blog for a long time now. Main reason for that is that I have been away on parental leave for a couple of days. My son Isak was born on the 14th of October, 6.30 in the morning .

Today I added a new demo for kXScroll. By tweaking it a bit, you can use kXScroll as a css tabular module. The next release for kXScroll will contain a couple of new features as well as improvements. You will be able to loop content, and also put out links on the left and right side/under and above of the scroll at the same time. We will also improve the settings dialog and add some more user friendly controls to it.

The gallery module (kXGallery), all versions are out now at snowcovered. This afternoon I added some more demos to prove that you can use it for displaying streamed wmv content, and also showing that you can incorporate a youtube video nicely. Check it out.

Finally the release of kXGallery is here. A little bit delayed, but we wanted to add more functionality such as bulk-insert and rescaling options to be able to provide a strong product.

kXGallery is based on a javascript library called Grey Box, which is licensed under LGPL. This library is great, and provides many functions that I think that for instance Lightbox. Check it out here

I just added Premium and Ultimate versions of kXScroll v1.2 to snowcovered today. Right now we are working hard on the kXGallery module. New features are being added that needs to be tested. In a couple of days, there will be new dogfooding on this site.

Time for some dogfooding again. This time we check the release candidate for kXScroll v1.2. We have worked very hard, and can now proudly present a very cool feature. You can inject your modules into the scroll. There is a number of bug fixes also as I mentioned in my last post here. Hopefully it will prove that kXScroll is a quality product, with fast ongoing updates.
